So long, Farewell - bad news for Godiva lovers

When I was walking through the Tucson Mall the other day I noticed busy workers removing the fixtures from the Godiva chocolate store. The store has obviously been closed.
Apparently, Campbell Soup Co. has sold off Godiva chocolate in their quest to create a more healthy image for the company. They have owned Godiva chocolates for more than 40 years.
Recently Campbell’s has reduced sodium in some of their soups as well as brought out a whole grain version of their Goldfish crackers. In an increasingly health concious America this is to be applauded (while still realizing this is the bandwagon of the day - many companies are making these adjustments to their product lines). But is doing away with Godiva chocolates really going to increase their image of a healthy company? How many of the general public even realized that Campbell’s owned Godiva?
Of course there are finances behind the decision. It was reported on Yahoo! Finance that Campbells has been exploring selling the chocolate company for some time but did not have a venture in which to place the proceeds of the sale. The opportunity to expand their soup sales into mainland China and Russia has presented itself so its bye-bye Godiva.
So the question remains, will Godiva chocolates still be readily available? Where can we find them? Chocolate has its benefits - both mentally and physically. A lot of research is being done into the health benefits of chocolate. And quite a few people can tell you how much better they feel after a stressful day when they indulge in eating a little chocolate.
I sure hope the new company that purchases Godiva recognizes the need for good chocolate and will make it available again.
